For the price of a cup of coffee, you can make a lasting impact on children's education and futures in rural KwaZulu-Natal. As a KHULA Coffee Club member, you’ll be part of an exclusive community dedicated to change—receiving quarterly updates on the incredible impact of your support. Small contributions go a long way—here’s how your monthly donation helps:
Hunger shouldn’t stand in the way of learning. Malnutrition affects 27% of children in South Africa, leading to stunted growth and poor concentration. KHULA provides two nutritious hot meals a day to all pre-schoolers, ensuring they have the energy to learn and thrive. Your support means a child can receive three full weeks of meals, giving them the foundation for a brighter future.
Education changes lives, but rural schools face massive challenges—overcrowded classrooms (sometimes 90+ students per teacher), underqualified educators, and lack of access to quality learning. KHULA supports 6 primary schools and 5 high schools, reaching 3,250+ students annually.
KwaZulu-Natal faces 80% youth unemployment, one of the highest in South Africa. KHULA’s Skills Hubs provide young people with vocational training, digital skills, and job placements.
Your support equips young people with the skills they need to build a better life.

Experience tells us that education is the primary means of improving the economic opportunities of children and moving families out of poverty.
Our vision is that all children, regardless of their socio-economic, cultural background or location are able to reach their potential and make a difference to their families and communities.
Our aim is to work with the existing teaching programmes in local government primary and secondary schools and enhance the children's experience of education. We are passionate about reaching as many children in KwaZulu-Natal as possible and hope to expand the KHULA Linked Schools model further whilst maintaining the quality of teaching and support that we provide.
We believe that measuring our impact is imperative to understanding and improving the success of our programmes. To date we have seen:
